Sami Al-Asady
Sami Al-Asady is a proud child of Bosnian and Iraqi war refugees. He was part of President Biden’s inaugural cohort of the White House Internship Program, serving on the COVID-19 Response Team. Sami’s work focused on public health equity and strategic communications, culminating in the execution of the White House Summit on COVID-19 Equity & What Works Showcase. He also interned at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy with a communications portfolio in cancer, climate, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. At the state level, Sami interned for Congressman Ruben Gallego, where he worked on federal casework and emergency response during COVID-19 lockdowns, and actively serves on the board of Secular AZ—a non-profit protecting the First Amendment. Sami studies political science and civic and economic thought and leadership at Arizona State University’s Barrett Honors College. He was a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow at the Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs.
