John McAfee is a candidate in the 2020 presidential election. He announced his candidacy June 3, 2018.
McAfee is best known as the creator and former CEO of McAfee Associates, the first commercial computer anti-virus company. When he resigned from the company in 1994, he moved to Belize and developed QuorumEx, a company aimed to develop organic antibiotics. After a return to the United States, he ran for the libertarian presidential nomination in 2016 but lost to Gary Johnson.
