Senator Elizabeth Warren on a Religious Registry

On January 5, 2017, Warren and colleagues introduced S.54, the Protect American Families Act, which sought to prohibit the creation of a federal registry based on religion, race, age, gender, ethnicity, national origin, or nationality.

On the issue, Warren stated, “Targeting people based on their religion flies squarely in the face of who we are as Americans – and it makes our country less safe.”
