Senator Kamala Harris is a presidential candidate in the 2020 election. She entered the race on January 21, 2019.

Harris was elected district attorney for San Francisco in 2004 and then elected attorney general of California in 2010. After 6 years in her role as attorney general, she was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016. As a Senator, Harris is a member of the Committee on Budget, Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Committee on the Judiciary, and Select Committee on Intelligence.
