Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is a Democratic candidate in the 2020 presidential election. She entered the race on January 11, 2019.

Gabbard began her career on the Honolulu City council and as a legislative aid to Former Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI). She was later elected to the Hawai‘i State Legislature in 2002. A year later, she joined the Hawai‘i Army National Guard where she continues her service as a major. She was then elected to the U.S. House of Representatives where she is now in her fourth term. In Congress, Gabbard is a member of the House Committee on Armed Services, and the House Committee on Financial Services. She previously served on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
