Ryan served in the Ohio State Senate for half a term from 2oo1-2002 when he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. He has served in Congress since. As a Representative, Ryan is a member of the Appropriations Committee, and chair of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee.
