Congresswoman Susan Wild is a member of the Congressional Freethought Caucus.
Sworn in November 2018, after a special election and reelected for a full term beginning in January 2019, she now serves Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district, representing all of Lehigh and Northampton counties, and parts of Monroe county. She is committed to fighting for quality, affordable health care for all, an economy that benefits every member of our community, and reforming our political system to return government to the American people. As a congresswoman, she has been critical of Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, joining in a joint democratic letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressing her concerns. She has also been vocal on topics of immigration and immigrant rights, reproductive rights, and myriad social issues
Congresswoman Wild serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and two Foreign Affairs subcommittees: as vice chair of the subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations, and as a member of the subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, Energy and the Environment. She also serves the Committee on Education and Labor, where she is on the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions, and the Committee on Ethics.
Prior to her time in Congress, Wild earned her BA at American University and her JD at George Washington University Law School. She then practiced law, becoming a partner at the Gross McGinly Law Firm in 1999.
