In a June 5, 2019 tweet, Castro addressed his views on the Hyde Amendment, which restricts the use of federal funds to pay for abortion:
“All women should have access to reproductive care, regardless of their income or the state they live in. Abortion care is health care—it’s time to repeal the Hyde Amendment.”
In a June 13, 2019 town hall on Fox News, Castro added:
“A woman should have the right to get an abortion in this country, should have the right to choose… If I’m president I’m going to appoint judges who understand the importance of that right, the importance of Roe v. Wade and do everything I can to ensure that women have that right and we protect not only reproductive freedom but that we enhance reproductive right.”
