Bill Weld is a candidate in the 2020 presidential election. He announced his candidacy on April 15, 2019. 

Weld began his career as U.S. attorney for Massachusetts from 1981-1986. He then served as head of the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice in the Reagan administration from 1986-1988. Following his time in the Department of Justice, Weld was elected as governor of Massachusetts, a role he served in from 1991-1997.
