The IRS has officially destroyed the Johnson Amendment as we know it.
The creation of the Johnson Amendment happened over seven decades ago because Congress knew religious places of worship should not engage in political activities.
As a coalition of secular organizations, we know the importance of protecting politics from religious influence. We've written to the United States Secretary of the Treasury, letting them know this IRS decision must be reversed.
