On March 13, 2019 Bennet and colleagues introduced S.788—the Equality Act—a bipartisan bill which bans discrimination against LGBTQ individuals. The bill specifically targets issues such as employment, housing, public accommodations, jury service, access to credit, and federal funding.
On the issue, Bennet stated:
“It is far past time for federal laws to be entirely free from discrimination. We owe it to everyone in the LGBTQ community to pass the Equality Act and right these injustices once and for all.”
