On July 28, 2017, Booker reintroduced bill S.2765, titled the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act (REHYA), which would establish the first federally funded sex education standards and grants for the entire country. On this occasion he said:
“Countless studies have shown that comprehensive sex education is the best way to improve the health and wellbeing of our young people. By giving them the tools to make informed, responsible, and healthy decisions, we can positively impact the health of all Americans. Failing to do this will only exacerbate the health disparities among our kids.”
