Forbes contributor Christine Ro recently condemned the Trump Administration for their reinstatement of the Global Gag Rule, which bars funding for global health organizations that provide abortion information or services.
“The policy will lead to more abortions of the dangerous, medically unsupervised, barbaric kind , which cause up to 13% of maternal deaths,” wrote Ro. “After all, affected women won’t have access to broader family planning that could keep abortion off the table.”
“Each iteration of the global gag rule involves censoring doctors, rejecting evidence of the effectiveness of health programs, and curbing reproductive health choices,” she continued. This is bound to harm women, men and children alike.”
